IMO, JBS is still the best in the 14th & that says the 14th region is one of the weakest regions in the state this year.

I attended Alice Lloyd College (where JBS is located). The parents of some of the JBS players (at that time ALC students or faculty) were there at that time. There may also be other connections that even I am not aware of.

I'm not sure. Either them or Hazard. Like I said, the 14th region is weak compared to most regions in the state year in & year out.

The bottom line is JBS lost to two very good basketball teams.Why so many excuses? Seems like every time JBS loses there's always an explanation to why,such as curvy roads,small school,bad called game.Even when JBS wins they could have won by more,but......................!!! Have respect for your opponent no matter the out come of the game.

JBS will always have an excuse. Congrats Trinity!

I watched JBS play Pendleton and was impressed with how they played team ball and they had 5 players get double figures. I missed the second game but did catch the Trinity game and I have no excuses but was impressed with the shooting and intensity of Trinity. This was a game that hopefully JBS will learn from and grow as a team. The one thing JBS must do to be a really good team is to get more kids involved in the game like they did against Pendleton. Cox and Short had 18 each and Clark Stepp had only 14 points but had 10 assists and that is when JBS is at their best. They are a young team that hopefully will learn from their first big tourney. Congrats to Trinity because they do have a good team and seemed to be very well coached. Good luck to both teams this year.

In the games I saw Clark Stepp, like a lot of great players, tried to do a bit too much. He needs to keep the big guy involved as a first option. Having said that the burden the BMOC has is if he doesn't take all the shots, the people say he isn't involved or doing enough. This seems to be the criticism of Darius Miller, and it is not really fair.

I agree with you that he is a much better player when he gets the others around him involved. JBS could have an unbelievable inside game if they choose to use it. Collins could easily average a double-double and Trey Short who is 6"6" had 18 points 16 rebounds and 6 blocks in the Pendleton game and never got many looks in the next game. If they decide to use their height advantage Stepp would still get his points and the team would be more successful.
