Top 4A contender looks to put away pesky, game Patriots squad

Records: Corbin (11-0), Lincoln County (6-6)

BGP Ranking: Corbin (#2 in 4A), Lincoln County (unranked in 4A)

Series History: Corbin leads 4-0 all-time

Table Setter: Lincoln County has been one of the more enigmatic teams in the state this year. A season opening blowout win was followed up by four straight losses. They've since won five of six. The one loss during that stretch was a three score setback to the team they'll see this week.

Corbin spent a chunk of the season ranked #1 in 4A, before Boyle County unseated them in the final poll. The Hounds have run off eight straight games scoring at least 40 points, including the 42-21 win over the Patriots a few weeks ago. Quarterback Cameron Combs had a big night with five total touchdowns, including a pair of scoring tosses to UK bound Treyveon Longmire. Lincoln County all-purpose star Clayton Davis kept the Patriots in it for a half. He recorded 214 yards from scrimmage and a couple of scores, plus an interception. Corbin denied LC in the second half and scored 21 points themselves to pull away.

The Patriots gave Corbin fits in the regular season last year before the Hounds kept them at arm's length in the playoff rematch.

Corbin rolls!

Corbin rolls.  Lincoln has some talent, that's obvious.  Just not enough to slow down Corbin.  Best thing that could have happened for Corbin in the first game.  Lincoln smacked them in the mouth the first half.  Int on the goal line was big momentum swing.  Corbin should be better focused from the git go this game.  I think Corbin big.
