Results from Day 1

Franklin Co 59 Shelby Valley 49

Rowan Co 64 Walton-Verona 43

Ashland 40 West Jessamine 34

East Carter 76 Tates Creek 55

Today's Schedule (12/29)

Tates Creek vs West Jessamine (3pm)

Shelby Valley vs Walton-Verona (4:45)

Franklin Co vs Rowan Co (6:30)

East Carter vs Ashland (8:15)

This is always a nice tourney, but I never understood the name Queen of the Bluegrass. Grayson isn't in the bluegrass region, and the King of the Bluegrass always brings in the very top teams in the state and top teams from out of state. This is a nice field, don't get me wrong, but not comparable to the KOB tourney.

After reading more about the history of this tourney, I see that the original format was very much like the KOB format. There were more teams and games played at 2 sites. I guess the number of games has been scaled back recently and there seems to be much more attention to detail making the experience better for those involved. I still think the King of the Bluegrass is one of the best tourneys in the Eastern U.S. and it would be hard to equal. That being said, the QOB is a good tourney with pretty solid competition for Eastern KY.

Better officiating would make this more true to the name "Queen of the Bluegrass". Pretty dissapointing!!!

Only person that has control over that is Bob Craiger. He assigns them, we take what we get.

Does this mean your team was not in the Championship or that you would like to see more "Queens" (ladies) officiate the tournament?

Does the King of the Bluegrass have the best officials in the state?

Not sure I am following you.
