Crittenden County under COVID guidelines

Featured Replies

Per Crittenden Press:  The Rockets have cancelled their trip to Calloway for their scrimmage tonight.  Their home opener vs Murray is now cancelled.  Not sure if Murray is looking for a game or taking bye week.

KHSAA website shows a forfeit victory for Murray. This has been the talking point in the lead up to football season - games would be forfeits and teams wouldn't be allowed to add games to their schedule. That makes sense if it is game week, but I don't like that rule one week out. To me, if a game is canceled due to Covid prior to the Monday of the game week, then the team not affected by Covid should be allowed to search for a replacement game. If they can't find a replacement (either for the canceled game or their scheduled bye week) then the game could be counted as a forfeit. It isn't fair, in my opinion, that Murray's kids will only get nine regular season games instead of ten for something they had nothing to do with.

They should be allowed to have makeup games what if a team has 6 games forfeited those Ws for those games don’t mean anything if a team only gets to play 4 games.
