Newport Catholic (5-2) -- Sandfoss 16, Kiel 3, Cutter 2, Cundiff 14, Giesler 2, Simms 2, Tabor 2, Mi1e 2, Dunny 5.

No additional stats to report...didn't get them before the statistician headed home.

 

The young players sure give their all (at one point, with Terry and Faulkner on the bench with foul trouble, Queen was on the floor with a freshman, two 6th graders and a 7th grader)...and they will have their day, but they just don't have the size and strength to be effective at this time.

 

This season will be a reminder of the difficulties inherent in small school sports programs.

 

Keep working girls...there is much to be gained in the effort and experience.

That must be tough, to be put in that situation.

Looks like the way to beat Rose Hill is to get them in foul trouble. If I remember correctly, they were in foul trouble in the Paris game and lost that one too.

 

That hurts any team with very little depth. But watch out if they stay out of foul trouble. They are a tough team to beat.

With only 3 players contributing any points its gonna be tough for Rose Hill in any game

The three have been in foul trouble in all four of the team's games. Those three are as good as any three in the state but they cannot do it all. However, if somehow all three could keep out of foul trouble, particularly early foul trouble as has been the case, they can play with most teams and beat many of them.

 

Coach Euton has a tough job but last year I saw on a daily basis how well she handled all the distractions and, if a solution can be found, she will find it.

Agree with all the comments, but doesn't NewCath get any credit? Their center, Cundiff, played 3 minutes of the first becuse of foul trouble, but came back with a big 2nd half. They worked just as hard, probably harder, and earned the win.

No doubt that New Cath deserves the credit for the win, congrats and good luck the rest of the way! But it seems that unless it involves RH in some way, the girls threads don't get many posts? Just my observation.

By all means...the NewCath kids deserve a great deal of credit. They were down 10 early on, but fought back for a well-deserved win. They played clean, but aggressive and were the better team last night. Good luck the rest of the way.
