I thought sure Mercer would be pretty good this year from the consolidation

 

They're 4-2 right now and several of their players were key contributors to the football team who are working off a little gym rust. Its much too early to be concerned, especially since they are 4-2!

They're doing better than I expected. I knew the consolidation would help them, but since the two teams combined record last year was like 19-37, I didn't know how much it would help.

They probably aren't a regional contender. There wasn't as much basketball talent in the two schools as there was football. But they could easily win 18 games and make a little noise in the 12th.
