South Oldham comes in riding a three game winning streak; North has lost their last two (to top 10 Bowling Green and Top 20 St. X)

North won the regular season matchup, 52-48, in Crestwood.

These two have met in the first round (semi-finals) of the 29th District tournament 5 of the last 10 seasons, with South winning 3 of the 5, and the last three in a row (2020, 2018, and 2017).

Last year's matchup went to South in the SF elimination game, 77-74, over North.   Both teams shot the ball over 50% from the floor and over 80% at the line.   Nobody who scored in that game returns for South; North returns their top 3 scorers from that game (Austin Carr-Cole 26 points, Dallas Roberts 20 points, and Thomas Ashton 10 points) and 58 of their 74 total points total.

Five straight region appearances for Simpson and the Dragons.

Unofficially....

Dallas Roberts 27 points (North)

Cole Davis 22 points (South)

Sounds like an offensive explosion for North Oldham after two 39-point outings! This was a much higher scoring game than the last game between these two.

First time since 2017 that either team had beaten the other by more than 9 points...

South had a 15-10 lead early, but North went ahead at 20-19 and never looked back, taking a 9 point lead into the locker room at 35-26.    South held North scoreless the first four minutes of the third and ultimately cut the lead to 37-33, but three consecutive turnovers by South with the score at 37-33 gave North some breathing room, and the Mustangs pushed it out to an 11 point lead at 48-37 on a three pointer by Rico Carr-Cole at the buzzer to end the third.

Carr-Cole hit consecutive threes to start the fourth to push South to the ropes, and the Dragons - despite a 9 for 12 (shooting) fourth period -  could not catch up.
