Final from Irvine. Lee was up 65-64 with 11.1 to go. Owsley gets fouled. Makes both, puts Owsley up 66-65. Lee turns it over on handoff to Watterson (Lee's best player). Owsley (same player as earlier) makes two more to put Owsley up 68-65. Watterson's desperation heeve at halfcourt comes off the back of the iron.

Owsley advances to face Estill County in the 56th district championship on Wednesday.

Glad to see progress at Lee County. Bobcats still haven't been to the region since 2011 with coach Danny Wright (who did a really good job there), but at least they are now competitive. They've had district tournament losses of 15, 16, 30, 32, 39, and 40 in recent years.

Coach Broadwell, in his first year as head coach, has done a really good job this year.

He has a sophomore guard, Zach Watterson, averaging over 30 ppg. (And on a side note, Zach is a scratch golfer and defending region champion).
