Runcible Owl
Congratulations to St. Xavier! The Tigers won six events, led by triple winner Anthony Woods (60m, LJ, TJ). As expected X placed well in the distance events, with Nolan Hester (1500m), Theo Bachmann (3000m), and the 4x800m relay also capturing gold. Top team scoring: 1. St. Xavier 114 2. Marshall Co. 53 3. Owensboro. 58 4. Cov Cath. 42 T5. P L Dunbar. 34 T5. Trinity. 34 Also winning multiple individual medals: Mario Paul, Dunbar: 60mH - 1st; 400m - 1st; 200m - 2nd; 60m - 3rd. Leo Bouldin, Cov Cath: 200m - 1st; 60mH - 2nd; LJ - 2nd. Braydon Carson, Madison Southern: HJ - 2nd; TJ - 2nd. Dakota Eggleston, Simon Kenton: LJ - 2nd; TJ - 3rd. Performances that popped: PV - 16-0, by Madison Southern soph, Wyatt Stewart. This young man is going to win titles and break records. HJ - 6-8 by Donsten Brown of McCracken Co. 60m - Anthony Woods (St X)and Leo Bouldin (Cov Cath) ran 7.15s in different heats. 200m - Leo Bouldin's 22.39 on tight indoor curves is impressive. 400m - 50.02 by Madrio Paul of Dunbar. 1500m - 3:58.27 by Nolan Hester of X, equates to ~ a 4:15 mile/1600. 3000m - 8:46 by Theo Bachmann of South Oldham. I think Theo is going to approach 9:15 in the 3200 this spring. Always like to give some "ink" to the often anonymous relays folks. Marshall Co.'s 4x400 .(3:33.9) and St. X's 4x800 (8:22.2) are both excellent early season efforts.
mcpapa
I well remember the days of Bobby Curtis at X. Never saw a better high school distance runner up close.
