North Oldham vs. South Oldham Predictions/Updates

Featured Replies

North Oldham travels to play South Oldham on Monday, 2/8/21.

Two teams going opposite directions right now....North has dropped four straight and sits at 1-4.    Forward Caleb Hawley is still out (concussion protocol) and star guard Dallas Roberts left the game Saturday against Butler with an undisclosed problem....his status for Monday is unknown.

South, on the other hand, has won 3 of their last 4.   They lost Saturday to Covington Holy Cross by 12, but are continuing to show improvement, with new players shouldering the scoring load every game it seems.  South comes into the game at 3-2 on the season.

The game has no district implications; Oldham County has already secured the #1 seed in the post-season 29th District tournament.   South and North will play each other in the first round, regardless of the outcome of this game.

But it's North-South.

The name itself implies an intense rivalry, and it's been befitting of this particular rivalry.    South won the last game, knocking North out of the district tournament last year.    Regardless of who's on a winning streak or a losing streak, and regardless of who is on the floor for the two teams, this will be a fun game to watch.   It's pretty much always a tournament-level of intensity.

Free live video coverage begins at 7 pm on Monday on www.pegasussportsky.com

South certainly seems to have the momentum, and they will be playing at home - for whatever value that brings, in the COVID environment, which means no vocal student sections. I think North will

I’m not quite sure to make of this game.  North is definitely on a skid, and someone told me they hear Roberts may have a groin injury.  I hope not, that’s one of those injuries - like a high ankle sprain - that can linger and hamper a kid for a long while. The truth is, with each team only having played 5 games, I’m not sure we know enough yet to confidently say much.  One thing is certain - as you say, there will be intensity befitting a rivalry.

I think North will really miss having Hawley out.

If Roberts doesn't play for North, you have to give the edge to South.    But regardless, I think we can rest assured that the "effort" level will be off the charts for both teams.

I HATE that I'm going to miss this game.   It's always a lot of fun to call.

Pegasus WILL be there to broadcast.    PSN will actually cover both games; the first game is a girls' game between South Oldham and Meade County.   The second game is the North-South boys game.

Unfortunately, I personally will have to miss.   Kevin Montgomery will handle the play-by-play with Todd Gilley providing the color for both games.    I'll be at home like the rest of you, watching on the computer.

PSN goes on the air at 4:30 with the pregame before the girls' game; the boys' broadcast will start around 7:30 -7:40ish.

South Oldham's girls are playing a game before the NO-SO boys' game.   South's girls play Meade County.....that should mean that the North - South boys' game will start around 7:45 pm.

North playing without starters Caleb Hawley and Dallas Roberts, which will put the Mustangs in a bit of a hole....Hawley has the capacity to record double-doubles, and Roberts is averaging over 18 ppg.....

The game has no impact on the district seeding - these two will play again in the 29th district semi-finals, regardless - but this rivalry game means a lot to these two schools.

coverage will begin with the girls' game, but the boys' contest figures to start around 7:40 - 7:45 ish....   free live video at www.pegasussportsky.com

Looks like Hawley is in fact warming up and set to play. No Roberts though.

Video problems tonight due to our wireless carrier.    Video is on, but there is some annoying pixellation.   We are working directly with Verizon to try to resolve even now.    Bear with us.   The video isn't unusable, but it's not our normal quality.
