Lee Co. 70 - Owsley Co. 47

Owsley's youth showed up tonight, but I think they'll be okay. Lee has a good team, and you have to give them credit. The Owls need to cut down on their turnovers and sometimes forced shots. plus they could have taken quite a few charges tonight, but didn't. I still think this team will be a contender in the district when tourney times rolls around. Coach Parrett has them headed in the right direction.

Looks as though the 56th is a toss-up between Powell/Estill/and Lee. Powell seems to have the upperhand as of now with their win over Lee, and Lee beating Estill.

Lee played a good second half as Coach Wright adjusted his team's interior play. He is also utilizing his bench well and sophomore Cory Dunaway contributed well in this game. Caleb Fetters dominated at both ends and may be the most under-rated player in the 14th.

 

The Owls are young and didn't handle traps and pressing very well. They played a decent zone but when Lee hit a few outside shots and pounded the offensive glass the game was finished.

Looks like Lee bounced back from the Powell game.

Coach Wright and Lee will still decide who wins the 56th and I wouldn't want to have them in the first or second round of the tourney if I were Hazard or JBS. Good win for the Bobcats.

I agree that Lee County should still be the favorite in the 56th although Estill is playing well and Powell is trying to turn things around. But by tournament time any team in the 56th could win the crown.

 

As of right now the games that I have seen, Hazard twice, JBS once, and Lee County twice, I cant see the boys from Beattyville matching up with either of these teams. But it is a long time till the tourney.
