That makes sense. No need to fix a scheme that is working already. The machine rolls on. Bell can play South close. I have to agree with my friend 4CHS on that one. Who will be calling the 13th region this year? If it stays in house or the 12th then that plays in favor of the Cards. If not then it equals things out a bit. Coach Wright can work the officals with the best of them. Not that he needs to.

The regional final will be South/Corbin. I've seen plenty a good Bell teams and they always faulter in the region tourney. I don't think Bell can beat South....if Corbin improves and gets Crawford some help, the Hounds can, but Bell won't and there is no way Cumberland will.

Actually fouls were close: South was called for 21 and Corbin 23...sotuh ahd two players with four fouls and corbin had zero.

South shot 30 free bees and corbin 24....Proffitt had only SIX free throw attempts, while Crawford had 11 and Hammonds ahd 10.

Barley played about 6 minutes all night and fouled out. He might have been a factor if he had not been in foul trouble all night. Fouls had nothing to do with the outcome. Now maybe the margin. :D

We will not know how close Bell is to South til the last game of the season or so. I will agree to disagree. If Barbourville can give them a solid run last season then Corbin, Bell, Cumberland and maybe a few others can this season. South is not as powerful without Walt Allen. He did alot of dirty work inside that thus far no one has shown an interest in doing for the Cards. Catch them on a night when the big 3 is not clicking and things might become interesting. But give credit where it is due. The Cardinals are a top 10 club.

I would say that crawford earned all his ft's by taking it to the basket and drawing the contact. Barley had 5 for Corbin & Johnson had 4 according to his family. None of the big 3 had over 2 or 3 fouls for South.

Those Cardinals did a lot of that floppin when they played the Colonels even though they didnt need to. I thought for a minute that I had gone to one of those european soccer matches a couple of times tonite.

You might wanna go check your sources on WALTON MOUNTAIN, JOHN BOY.

Because Jordan Hammonds had FOUR FOULS...maybe, just maybe, ol' granpa heard the radio wrong up on the mountain when they were announcing who had how many fouls.

Well you're wrong about another stat...Johnson had THREE FOULS, not four.

You need to get a better antenna up on Walton Mountain, brother.

I'm not sure who those guys are on 103.9 maybe some of you South fans can tell me.

Bad when you forget where your check is signed.....lol

even worse when you forget who is signing it.

Fouls, no fouls. what does it matter. South Won, Corbin Lost.

Time will tell who improves, as well as who is truly for who.

That's true....I really believe Corbin can get South and they'll meet in the finals of the region.

Have to disagree with ya here.

Proffitt and Hammonds are the top two players in the region and Josh is third.

Proffitt does a lot of things for South and just a solid overall player.

I disagree very much. Proffitt is an excellent passer for South Laurel and can score from to time but I think overall, Crawford is the better player. Defensively in the post and up on backcourt players, knowing when and when not to take shots (somethign Proffitt tends to not discern at times) and gaining entrance to the paint and scoring with his size and speed is something I think Crawford does better than Proffitt. Think of it this way, could Proffitt do the things he does without the players around him??? He makes the team better, but I think if Proffitt was on Corbin's team, he wouldn't look as impressive.

Too much complaining from Corbin fans on this thread. The fact is the better team won tonight & you can't blame players for "flopping" when they know when they do they get the call. That's called smart play & good coaching. Crawford seems to be a real nice player...Where is he going to college again ????
