Good win for the Wildcats "out of the gate."  Anderson expected to score points this year; Henry was looking for some answers from the guards.   Haven't seen the stats yet, but Henry seems to have found some answers in terms of complementary scorers to help out Trevor Hardin.

I know Henry and Anderson usually don't play each other very often, could this be the first time Henry has beaten Anderson?

Good question.   They played last year and AC won, 63-40, so this was quite the reversal.   Of course, Anderson County has a lot of new faces in that lineup this year.  

You got me curious....

I went back through the khsaa.org scores, all the way back to the 1998-99 season (the earliest season recorded on the site), and found that Henry County had lost - at least - 19 straight to the Bearcats.    When they last beat Anderson is not readily available, but it was at least prior to the 1998-99 season.

Henry and Anderson used to be together in the 30th district some time back and played frequently, however, they only recently have begun playing often again....they played once to start last season, with Anderson winning by 23, and they also kicked off the 2018-19 season with Anderson winning by 13.

They ended the 2017-18 season against each other in the first round of the Region, with Anderson topping Henry, 58-45.

Prior to that, the two hadn't played since February of 2013.

I believe I saw this was Henry’s first victory over Anderson since the 1988-89 season.

wow.   Thanks for doing the additional research, Mack.   I only took it back to the late 90s....

Tough streak.

Kudos to Coach Welch and the Cats on ending one of those "OMG!" streaks....
