This game was yesterday.

 

I know this is just JV but based on their varsity results so far it looks like Western has started the climb back up to respectability.

Yeah, they have some athletes over there.

That’s often the case at JCPS schools. The biggest problem I’ve seen from the outside is consistency among coaches at the 4A and 5A schools. It seems like every season brings a new coach, which can’t be good for program building. Hopefully Smith can stay there for a while and take Western higher and higher. 

DaMarcus Smith has done a nice job so far.

Coaching is only part of the job at many JCPS schools. Keeping the kids involved and on the team and big deals. He has a group of five or six nice freshmen and a couple of good sophomores to go with the older kids.

As long as he sticks around, next year they will be even better.
