With Boyle County and Lexington Catholic waging a high profile battle of ranked 4A teams in Lexington, an equally important District VII contest will take place ninety minutes south in Corbin. The 5th ranked Redhounds host #8 Knox Central in a game that could very likely decide who gets a playoff home game or two, and who goes on the road in the first round.

Corbin (2-1) has spun its tires offensively, to the puzzlement of many. The Hounds have multiple future FBS athletes on that side of the ball, so it's not a matter of talent. Trayveon Longmire and Dakota Patterson give them a pair of skill players that few, if any, in 4A can match.

Knox Central (2-1) likes to pound the rock with its two headed backfield of Ethan Mills and Seth Huff, both of whom are averaging over a hundred yards rushing per game. The connection of Brady Worley to Abram Brock gives the Panthers a big play option in the passing game.

Corbin took both meetings last year by three scores each.

Even with Corbin's offensive woes I look for much the same result as last year.  Knox's two wins are by 1 point each to a couple of teams that are not that good.  They played SW tough but I just don't see them scoring much against Corbin. Those two RB's are averaging 100+ per game but only managed 135 yards between them against SW.
