Thoughts on the match-up?

A coaching battle between two ex-NFL players - Bruce Kozerski vs. Chad Pennington.

Heard McClendon is hurt, and 3 other seniors were out for last week. Anyone got an injury report of update for this week?

Sayre has quietly started off their season 3-0. They're still trying to keep most of their schedule modest, for the sake of continuing to build their program up...so their first three wins are against opponents who have a combined record of 2-7. Sayre definitely has a solid offense behind HC Chad Pennington's son Luke, their starting QB. Luke is a junior, and is averaging over 250 yards passing per game. The Spartans' passing game is definitely their strength, and their run game is a little less than they would hope; the offense hadn't totaled 100 yards for the season until their third game, when they managed to run 12 times for 159 yards against Trimble County and bring their season total from 94 yards to 253 yards. So is that more a case of Sayre's O-line coming around and getting things together in the third game, or is that a case of Trimble County's defense struggling to stop the ground attack? I guess we'll see, based on how things go there tonight.

Not sure as far as updates go, but WR/DB Brandon McClendon was out last week, as was senior TE/LB Sean Northcutt. Not sure about their statuses, or any other players that were out last week.

I just glanced over the Indians roster again, and noticed that Luca Bieger is a junior TE/LB at Holy Cross. Younger brother of Beechwood basketballer Aiden Bieger (BW '20) and son of Donnie Bieger (CCH '88) who was the starting quarterback on Cov Cath's first state championship football team in 1987. Didn't realize Luca was at Holy Cross.

Luca is a quality player.  This year, in 3 games, he has 12 solo tackles, 10 assisted tackles and a half of a sack.

FYI - I cannot comment on player status (even though I do know the answers to the questions posed).  Too close to the team.  Sorry.
