Somerset at Whitley County Predictions/Updates

Somerset finally got the proverbial monkey off its back last season, claiming the program's first football state title after several runner-up finishes. In pursuit of another crown, the Jumpers return a bona fide Mr. Football candidate at quarterback, in UK commit Kaiya Sheron. Sheron's top target, multi sport star Kade Grundy is back to give Somerset one of the state's top pitch and catch combos.

Whitley County welcomes the Jumpers to Williamsburg, hoping to spring the upset and get their season off to a scintillating start. They won eight games a year ago and were nearly good enough to win their district, which includes Southwestern and Pulaski County. The Colonels were set to return a very solid offensive backfield before the QB was lost to transfer, making it all the more difficult to keep pace with the explosive Briar Jumpers.

With the unusual circumstances of the off-season, anything could happen in Week 1, but all signs point toward a decisive Somerset victory.
