He has been an assistant at Franklin Simpson since 2006. He was first hired by Tim Schlosser and continued as an assistant under Coach Preston. Chaney played at Franklin Simpson and graduated from there in 1996. He has previously served as strength coach, offensive line coach and offensive coordinator.

Max played his college ball at Campbellsville University.

 

I believe he is the first Franklin native to coach the Wildcats since Jim Ownby back in the 50's. He obviously knows the town, knows the kids, their families, and the school. Max's Dad Johnny was a standout lineman for the Cats in late 60' early 70's and played college ball at Jacksonville State (I think). He also was invited to a free agent try out with the NY Jets.

I was on staff at Campbellsville College when Max came through. Fine young Warrior. Very Good Choice.... Good Luck Big Fella....
