Bishop Brossart 81 Bracken County 61

Featured Replies

Game of two halves.

First half - Patient and deliberate. Brossart leads 25-19

Second Half - Run, Gun, and Have Fun. Brossart scores 35 in the third quarter alone and opens up a 60-37 lead. In the period Brossart's Stephen Verst scored 10 and Carson Schirmer 15.

Bracken County's precocious 8th Grader, Blake Reed, put on a Corey Pelle-esqe shooting display, hitting four 3-pointers from WELL beyond the arc, netting 16 in the stanza.

Reed led all scorers with 28, Jhance Cummins added 15 on the night.

Ethan Eilerman, named earlier today as 10th Region - All-Region - 1st Team, led the Mustangs with 24. Carson Schirmer scored 21, with 20 coming in the "no speed limit" second half, Stephen Verst finsihed with 13 and Blayke Kremer hit three 3s on the night.

With the win the Mustangs improve to 21-4 and Mike Code comes to within one of scoring his 300th career head coaching victory (all at Brossart).

Coach Reed was disappointed. He wanted to win this one bad. When you have a coach who drives passions like Coach you have times where people don’t like it. But those of us who are tried and true Bracken County folks know that he’s a winner.

It won’t be long until we’re winning these games!
