Coach Kincaid's social media post regarding his resignation:

I would like to take a moment to inform all those concerned that, after significant time spent in prayer and countless discussions with my wife, I have decided to resign as head football coach of PCHS.

Being an assistant coach, defensive coordinator, and most recently head coach has been an experience I will never forget. I have learned as much from my players as they have from me- maybe even more. One thing I have learned is how quickly they grow up. This lesson is the largest part of my resigning. I have always tried my best to juggle being a father and a coach. As my own children are growing and are starting to become involved in various activities, I can see this juggling act getting out of balance. This is why I feel it is best to allow someone else take the helm. Someone who can devote the time and energy to it that these boys deserve. This will also allow my children and wife to have the involved father and husband they deserve.

This was by no means an easy decision. Recent events however have made it clear this is the correct decision for me. Life is short and we are never guaranteed tomorrow. The Lord has blessed me beyond measure and I look forward to supporting the Pirates in all their athletic events with my greatest blessings- my wife and children.

My players know, as I have told them over and over, once I have been your coach I am always your coach. I am still only a text or email away if any of them need me. Thank you to everyone for the support and I encourage you to support all your Pirate athletes and coaches.

Brandon Brewer (Prestonsburg head coach) coached at Powell County before. Powell may not be Prestonsburg but Powell doesn't have to face the teams Prestonsburg does.

Mike Jones (former Estill County head coach). Lives in Stanton. Between Stanton and Mt. Sterling.

Have heard that Mike Jones (former Estill County coach) has applied and is showing interest. Would be a big time hire for the Pirates.

Powell has shown an ability to be competitive over the last several years. Jones would be a very good hire for them.

Powell has had coaches apply, and they're currently working on figuring out what their situation is going to be for 2020/21 in regard to teaching positions at the school.
