Bishop Brossart 70 Holmes 67

Nice win for the ‘stangs on the road, assuming the Scoreboard is correct.

The scoreboard is correct as the Mustangs win their fifth straight 70-67 at Covington Holmes, following a nine day layoff.

Two-time 10th Region - All-Region honoree, Ethan Eilerman, leads the Mustangs with 30 points. Junior guards Stephen Verst and Carson Schirmer add 14 and 11 respectively.

The first half saw 9 ties and 4 lead changes as the Mustangs owned a 33-31 lead at halftime.

Brossart attempted to get some separation in the third quarter, leading 53-44 at the quarter stop, and had built a ten point, 51-41, advantage during that time span.

The Bulldogs would not go away, cutting the visitors lead to one at 66-65 with just under a minute to play. We would connect on one free-throw on two occasions, leading 68-65, before Stephen Verst intercepted a Holmes cross-court pass, was fouled, and put this one on ice, with two charity tosses.

The Dawgs were led by Quantez Calloway with 27 points and Freshman Elan Elmer contributed 10.

The now 6-2 Brossart Mustangs head to the Henry County Holiday Tournament Thursday, Friday and Saturday, where our first opponent will be Franklin County (4-3) in the Thursday night 7pm Game in the "Roy".

Congrats Brossart!
