Steelers 16 Bengals 10

Don't understand the enthusiasm for the Bengals to get the number 1 pick? I've got zero (0) confidence they will do anything but screw it up!

This is the best statement I have heard regarding this number 1 pick.

How can you determine that a draft choice is a franchise QB? Some of these guys are good, but haven't seen a Peyton Manning. Brady was never branded a franchise guy. Will a young guy be able to flourish with what he will have around him? Will the defense improve enough to not spend 40 minutes a game on the field? Huber and Bullock look solid, Mixon, Boyd, etc. ok. Figure Green is gone, and imagine many of you will get your wish and Dalton goes too. Should be interesting....it's a long term project.

No one said it would be a short term project. That is why zero sense to keep Dalton and be between 4 to 8 wins a year and delay it even longer.

At the end of the day a top qb does turn a franchise around faster than any other position. Now there is no guarantee he will be a stud. However, when you are in this position you take that chance.

The goal should be 2022 in terms of being able to think playoffs and more. Green most likely is not gone, they will franchise tag him if they have to. I do think they will trade some people like Dalton, Dre, etc in the off season. They hopefully will have gotten the qb spot right and can spend the rest of the draft and next three off seasons building around him to be ready for 2022.
