BELFRY STORYLINE

So far it has been DeSales defeating Belfry with the numbers game. Colts have kept 10 or 11 guys within three yards of the line of s crimmage and Belfry has not been able to get to the second level. Pirates had a couple big self inflicted wounds with a crucial false start and a lost fumble.

 

Defensively Belfry has tried to force DeSales to beat them pounding the football. Pirates dropping heavy and the Colts have not seen any success passing and have been closer to two interceptions than two completions.

 

DESALES STORYLINE

Colts have found success running the ball from the I Formation and Offset I. Johnson has done a good job of jump cutting. DeSales also has hurt themselves with inopportune mistakes. They had a big False Start that cost them a shot at a 4th Down conversion inside Belfry territory and a big hold stalled out another nice drive when they had positive momentum.

 

The DeSales D has dominated 90% of the action, with Belfry finally getting some tread at the end of the Half. Colts has to continue to make this a grind for Belfry and the odds of Belfry failing to break a big play seems to outweigh the chances of popping one right now as the Colts are very strong at the LOS.
