It appears that those who will be attending this upcoming Friday's games will have to deal with some wet conditions. Rain will be falling most of the day on Friday before it moves out of Kentucky late Friday night or early Saturday morning. The following Euro Ohio Valley Radar is from 1 am to 7 pm EST.

 

 

As of now the heaviest rain accumulations looks to be in western and portions of southcentral Kentucky. Those in those areas are looking to get around an inch maybe a little more by 7 PM EST Friday evening. Most of the rest of the state it looking at between .5-.8 inches. This is just in a 24 hour period ending at 7 PM.

 

 

The temperature looks to range from the low 40s mainly north of I-64 to the mid to upper 40s south of I-64. This is around the start of the games.

I was just getting ready to post my update. As of this evening it looks like most of the rain will be over by game time. There may be some lingering light activity in portions of western Kentucky.

As of this evening, it now looks like most of the shower activity will move out of Kentucky before the start of most of if not all of the games. The models are in pretty good agreement on that. They are also in close agreement on the temperatures. Mainly in the low to mid-40s. Some may see temps in the high 30s mainly north of I-64 and east of I-65.

The following is a comparison of the 24 hr rainfall totals also around the 7 pm EST time slot Friday. The NAM differs from the other two models in that it has the heaviest rain accumulation track more northerly than the other two. All three are in pretty good agreement on the 24hr rainfall totals.

The rain should be out of Kentucky by the time the games start on Friday. Winds will be light and from the northeast 5- 10 mph.

It will be a gusty and cool night for high school football.

The precipitation should be over before the start of tonight's games. Temperatures will be close to normal for this time of year. Around 5 pm EST, they will range from the mid to upper 40s for parts of Kentucky south of I-64. North of I-64 from the low to mid-40s. Around 10 pm EST, they will fall to the low to mid-40s south of the I-64 corridor. North of that point from the high 30s to low 40s.

 

 

The windchills will be nominal at the start of the time period I mentioned above. Around the end of the period, they will range from the low to mid-30s north of I-64. then range from the upper 30s to low 40s south.
