Assumption 3 Christian Academy of Louisville 2 (Field Hockey State Championship)

[h=2]Assumption Beats CAL for their 11th Field Hockey State Championship 3-2[/h]

While I didn't go to the game, I heard it was a terrific game with Assumption getting out to 1-0 lead only to see CAL tie it right before the half and seem to retake momentum. Assumption then scored their final 2 goals of the game in just under 7 minutes time in the opening 10 minutes of the second half. But CAL would not go away and rallied for a late goal and had a penalty corner with about 10 seconds to play. But Assumption Goalie Emily Gillespie made a huge save and preserved the Championship Win for the Rockets 3 to 2 over a fine CAL squad!

Congratulations!
