Final.

This Russell bunch was on a mission tonight after dropping two straight to the Musketeers. Total and complete domination by the Red Devils.

Congratulations to the Devils. Enjoy this one tonight then get ready for Ashland.

The Devils are a team that people who follow 3A really need to keep an eye on!

This was my first chance to see Russell this season and I came away really impressed. This Russell team is a completely different team than I saw last season.

I worked the chains for last night's game so I got an up close and personal perspective of the Russell staff. There are some really good coaches there and I would attribute that to the Red Devils giant leap forward this season.

Outside of that there really isn't much to say about the game, as Russell dominated it in every way. Greenup needs to shake it off and regroup so East Carter doesn't spoil their upcoming senior night. Russell and Ashland will be a war.

Russell worked really hard in the weight room as well.

#5 Frisner Broyes for Greenup made his Greenup debut. He looked to have some speed. The kid is a senior though.

That makes a big difference as well. The first time I saw Russell last season my first thought was, "they look really small for a Russell team." Not so much this year. That said they have a really good DC as well though, dude really knows his football.

I think he averaged around 8 yards per carry. At that time TJ was already alternating between jv and freshman players though.

Sammons was as invisible last night as he's ever been in his career: 8 of 19 for 48 yards and just 5 rushing yards on two designed runs. Russell's defense was outstanding and deserves due credit, but it seems obvious that #3 doesn't have the weapons around him that he had last year. Halstead and Kelly were difference makers.
