I still think 7 and 21 should be in the backfield. Last year towards the end of the season, the offense was on a roll. I don’t understand why they don’t keep that going this year. JMHO

A WIN IS A WIN!! Doesn’t have to be pretty, just effective. Congrats to the Jags for stopping the 2 game losing skid. Hoping they keep the momentum going as they have 3 tough district games down the stretch!

Good Luck Jags!

Was at the game myself last night and saw 7 get a lot of carries so not sure what your referring too as 7 needing to be in the backfield.

Just referring to full time like last year. I thought that the offense was better last year when 7 and 21 were back there together. Like I said though...JMHO.

I have seen this comment a few times making it look like last year the offense was rolling. So I just looked up scores from last year the offense score 21 or less in 8 of the 12 games last year. In 6 games they score 14 or less. At this point last year after 7 games they scored 7 points or less 5 times. So I feel like some may have short memories on the offense. Not to mention didn't Cooper have one of the best receivers in NKY last year to throw to when Jeremiah Lee was at qb? Do they have a guy like that to keep teams from loading the box this year if he is at qb?

Cooper just went on the road and got a nice win and the first comments is to complain? When looking at these threads this year, I would think Cooper was 0 and 7 rather than 4 and 3. Which at this point last year they were 2 and 5. So just confusing to me the amount of complaining this year. For me the couple games I seen this year, Cooper is a lot less predictable this year than last year and more potential. Just need to get more consistency. JMHO.

To answer your question...yes you do have a guy. Henderson is the fastest kid in the school and well over 6 feet tall. Why isn’t he tried at receiver? Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy they got a win. I just think the offense could be better. The line is better this year as well. There are a lot of variables.

From what I heard the offense showed a lot more promise last night. It just needs to have more consistency, as a few turnovers hurt drives. Then a few penalties brought back some big plays. So seems to me cutting out the unforced mistakes and being more consistent is what needs to get better, rather than who is a qb or rb.

Not to mention I would think part of the reason why Coopers defense is much better this year. Is because someone like 21 is fresh on defense and can fly around and make plays. Same with 7 who if I remember correctly last year at qb who was sort of injury prone because of all the hits he was taking. So this seems to keep him fresher from less of a pounding on offense every play, and can do his thing more on defense too. That's just my take from the games I have seen and heard on Cooper this year.

This was a good win on the road. There was a lot of emotion involved. GRC got beat by Cooper in the playoffs last year and wanted some revenge. It was also their homecoming night. Two things that Cooper had to overcome, and did.

Cooper didn't help themselves with penalties and turnovers... again. Fixable. Defense on the field too long. Fixable. Not enough first downs on offense, lack of sustained drives. Fixable. Number of incomplete passes due to both receiver and QB's. Fixable.

There is a significant amount of talent on this team. Skill players and lineman alike. Also a blend of Seniors, Juniors and Sophomores. There are even some Freshman that could have an impact.

The Cov Cath debacle was the low point so, it better be all positive from GRC throughout the remainder of the season. They can not repeat that mindset again.

A win like Friday needs to align that talent with the goal of going after Conner. If I remember correctly, Cooper has some unfinished business with Conner from last year.

Top players in NKY in key positions on this team. There needs to be some sustained drives... move the chains at will. That smothering defense needs to play like it did in the second half of GRC. Started the year with a shut down defensive mindset... get that back.

Toughest district in 5A in the State. I wouldn't want it any other way.
