The 4th ranked Franklin County Flyers (6-0) host the North Oldham Mustangs (1-5) in a district matchup in Frankfort tonight.

Franklin County's offense has been quite a story this year, as the Flyers are #4 in the state at 44.3 ppg....but the defense is also ranked #4 in scoring defense, giving up just 13.5 ppg. The resulting 30.8 ppg average victory margin is also fourth best in the state.

QB Nick Broyles is a true dual-threat for the Flyers, ranking #4 in the state in passing at 226 yards per game, and #21 in rushing at 79 yards per game. Broyles is accurate (67% completion percentage, third-best among the top QBs) and makes few mistakes (17 TDs vs. only 2 INT). He also boasts an impressive 18.1 yards per completion average.

Fred Farrier is probably Broyles' favorite target, with 23 catches for 441 yards and 5 TDs. Cameron Phelps has 11 catches for 378 yards and 3 TDs.

Some of Franklin's most impressive individual stats belong to the defensive side, however. Three of the top five tacklers in 4A are Flyers - and four of the top 10. Brady Holleran (13 tackles / game) leads the state. #4 Peyton Ledford (11.2 tackles) and #5 Brenton Sears (11.0) also check into the top five, and Jayden Mattison (#10 in the state; 10.2 tackles / game) rounds out the state's top 10.

Holleran also leads the state with 9 sacks on the season; teammate Philip Peiffer is #2 in the state with 6 sacks.

The Flyers are 1-0 in district play after defeating Shelby County, 27-7, last week.

North Oldham enters the contest just 1-5 on the season, and 0-1 in the district after a road loss to Waggener last week. But the Mustangs are finally getting healthy; star WR Jake Bielinski is expected to be back to 100% tonight against the Flyers, giving North a weapon they've sorely needed during the first half of the season.

The Mustangs will be trying to get better blocking up front as they try to jump-start their running game, featuring talented sophomore Ben Becerra.

Without a doubt, North's ace in the hole is senior QB Blake McAfee. Like his counterpart for Franklin County, McAfee is an exciting, dual-threat player who can make big plays with his legs or his arm. McAfee leads the Mustangs in rushing with 404 yards and 2 TDs, averaging 7 yards a carry. Through the air, McAfee has thrown for 540 yards and 3 TDs.

Jackson Felts leads the Mustangs in receiving with 12 catches and 140 yards, both team highs.

Pegasus Sports will broadcast live video of the game from Frankfort, beginning with a pregame show at 7 pm ET. The Pegasus Sports Network - PSN
