Russell shouldn't have too much trouble. But there could be a letdown with it being homecoming night.

Two good reasons I'm anticipating a battle:

1. First and foremost, Fleming is pretty good. They're a four point loss to Greenup from being unbeaten. They outgained the Musketeers in total yardage by 100+. Jonathan Maher is a good QB - he can throw it and run it - and he's got multiple weapons to get the ball to.

2. They've won the last two times they've come to Russell. They don't fear "The Hank".

Will I be surprised if Russell rolls? No, because the Devils look legit to me so far. But given the recent history in this series, anything less than Russell's best could result in some homecoming heartache for the guys in maroon.

Ethan Sanders should be back for Russell this week or next.Russell is still missing a few players though. TJ mentioned who they are, but I know one is Hunter Martin and Obviously Chase Snedegar who should be back sometime before the end of the season.

The backups have played well though in some key players absence.

If Russell wants to Continue to be in the Top 10 in 3A they should have no trouble with Fleming. Fleming is close to being undefeated but have played Rowan County, Nicholas County, East Carter and Greenup County, None of those teams are on Ashland/Ironton level. If Russell can't beat Fleming by a large margin then they have no shot against Ashland in the district.
