Scheduled to start at 6:30 Central.

FS drives 60 yards in 9 plays finished off with a 5 yard TD run. FS 7-0.

Looks like they are doing the 10 plays per possession type of scrimmage.

In this scrimmage, when a team fails to convert a fourth down, they are backed up to their own 40 where the series began but retain possession if they haven’t exhausted their ten plays.

In ten plays, Owensboro advances to the FS 36.

FS starts at their own 40 leading 7-0.

FS gets 2nd and goal at the 7 but uses up its ten plays. FS 7-0.

Owensboro’s second possession ends at the FS 20. FS 7-0.

Looks like FS JV is in on this possession.

FS goes about 15 yards on this series. Owensboro JV is on offense now.

Owensboro with a nice leaping catch in the end zone on its tenth play. Extra point no good. FS 7-6 after 3 possessions each.

Frosh/JV possession has Owensboro outscoring FS 7-0.

Varsity played 2 ten-play possessions each and FS came out ahead 7-0. Overall final score including JV was Owensboro 13-7.

Owensboro has some injury issues with some key players but they have a team loaded with exceptional athletes. The QB was off target tonight but he gets right he has some burners to target.

I was pleased with how FS looked. There is no duplicate for Tre Bass but the next guys up can get the job done. The new guys plugged into the O line did nice work tonight. When they hit mid season I expect them to be quite effective. The defense did a good job keeping the OHS speed corralled.

This FS team has potential.

Big story out of Owensboro is that All State LB Austin Gough was injured during this game and expected to miss significant time. Another blow to OHS as Gough was expected to carry some RB load with Owsley out. Hate that for Gough who was primed to have another big year.

Heard that Owensboro had three key players with injuries that will sideline them for several weeks. That’s a hard pill to take. Then losing an All State player in a twenty play scrimmage......

I hate to hear that for the Red Devils. Sometimes the injury bug just hangs around a team for a while. Seems like this is the year for Owensboro.
