Final from Raceland

 

The Tomcats advance to meet Rowan County for the 16th Region championship.

It was 8-2 Ashland through four innings before West Carter made it interesting with four runs in the bottom of the the fifth. Ashland played add-on in the seventh with three runs to set the final.

Interesting with what all happened at Ashland this spring. Paintsville loses in the first game of the 15th region tournament and Ashland is playing for the 16th Region title. Can anyone say karma. lol Best of luck to Coach Greene he is a class guy.

Really impressive job by Greene to get Ashland to the brink of winning the region. Regardless of what happens tomorrow, he's proven himself worthy of leading Ashland's program forward.

 

Can you imagine how good the Tomcats would be if the Paintsville kids hadn't left? And they've also been without one of their biggest power hitters for half the season.

I'm pulling for Rowan County against Ashland.

Rowan probably has revenge on their minds anyway from the Ashland defeat early on.
