I'm not sure about regular season meetings. My research ceases at playoffs! I've got some regular season stuff, but not enough. I'm sure Owensboro Catholic-Mercer County is a first time matchup. I would guess Henderson County-Ryle is a first time matchup, simply because Ryle is a fairly new school. I might be wrong. Bowling Green-Central potentially has met before, but I'm guessing no on them as well.

 

Obviously Danville-Mayfield is the historical matchup this week!

Belfry and Russell have a long standing history, having been in the same district as one another for several years in the 70s and 80s. Lots of playoff spots were decided in those regular season battles, back when only one team from each district made the post season.

 

Belfry closed out their historical Vipperman Stadium in 2004 with the semifinal win against the Red Devils. It was a very fitting way to close that chapter in Belfry football history.

 

This is the third straight semifinal matchup between the two, both being very exciting and tough battles. Hope this weeks game provides as much fun and excitement for the fans and whomever wins, hopefully they will be healthy and go on to Papa Johns and bring home anoter trophy.
