February 19, 20197 yr The faces of the Tampa Bay franchise came out to play this evening in Columbus and the Bolts got their 6th win in a row, 8th in their last 10, and have garnered at least 1 point in 10 consecutive games. Nikita Kucherov had 2 goals and 3 assists. Braydon Point also had 2 goals (34 seconds apart) and Steve Stamkos scored with 28 seconds left in the 2nd period. All this on only 20 shots on goal. Joonas Korpisalo was basically a sieve. Is Bobrovsky hurt? I saw nothing of a trade. By contrast Andrei Vasilevskiy saved 39 of 40 shots on goal made by Columbus. Lucas Sedlak scored the lone Jacket goal with a 1:45 left in the game. Vassy came that close to his 3rd shutout in a row.
February 19, 20197 yr Author Nikita Kucherov became the first player in Lightning history to record 70 assists in a season. He leads the NHL in assists and points (99). Braydon Point picked up his 34th and 35th goals of the season. Stamer's goal was his 33rd. Andrei Vasilevskiy went 184:04 between the goal given up to Sean Monahan against Calgary and Sedlak's goal in the closing minutes, last night. Boston has also gone 8-0-2 in its last 10 games, but still trail the Bolts by 16 points in the Atlantic.
February 19, 20197 yr I watched this one in person and seeing Tampa Bay move as an attacking unit is wildly impressive. The Bolts are like a tidal wave of offense coming at you. After Stamkos' goal late in the 2nd period that gave TB the 3-0, the air left the building. People were leaving in droves after Brayden Point made it 4-0 only 12 seconds into the 3rd period. I may have been disappointed with my Jackets but I even more impressed by the Lightning. Good luck stopping that team.
February 19, 20197 yr Is Bobrovsky hurt? I saw nothing of a trade. I haven't heard any trade rumblings but the Jackets play back-to-back games and they're in Montreal tonight, so I'm assuming Korpisalo had to start one of them and they chose to sacrifice him against the Lightning.
February 19, 20197 yr Andrei Vasilevskiy went 184:04 between the goal given up to Sean Monahan against Calgary and Sedlak's goal in the closing minutes, last night. Vasi made some remarkable saves last night and I'd bet the Jackets would've put a couple more in if Domingue was in. Vasi was a difference maker. It's crazy to see the Lightning are on a 128 points pace right now. If they maintain this pace, it'll be the second most points scored in a season ('95-'96 Red Wings 131) by a Presidents' Trophy winner, which began in 1985.
