Oldham County 69 Gallatin County 68

Final from Buckner. Coomer misses a three at the buzzer that would have won it for the Cats.

Steven Votaw gave Oldham the winning points by hitting 2 FTs with 2.9 seconds to play - his only points of the game.

Thankful for the broadcast of this game. very good game to watch.

I’m hearing the foul call on Gallatin with 3 seconds remaining was a very questionable blocking call. Anyone that was there want to chime in?

My call was a charge but i was on the other end of the gym. I would question how the entire game was called both sides! Sometimes we played through fouls, sometimes they where called.

Have to agree to the general point being made here, as the officiating wasn't necessarily always bad, but it was always inconsistent. Sometimes it seemed as if I was watching an MMA brawl; other times, it seemed a mere brush against a player earned a foul. We (on the broadcast) kept finding ourselves befuddled by the calls.

However, on the last call - and I know some will call me a "homer" here, but those who've listened to me a little over the last 39 years on radio/cable/internet hopefully know that, while I'm calling on behalf of the Oldham schools, I call it like I see it - it appeared clear to both of us at the announcers' table that Votaw was fouled on the shot. (especially during tournament time, we try to be as even-handed as can as we have now served as the unofficial voice of the 8th region since 1998, calling each and every game, regardless of who plays) Ironically, had Votaw not been fouled on the shot, I think he might have been called for a foul himself, fighting for the rebound.

Talk about a razor-thin margin for victory...

But it was that kind of night. It was a great game to watch, in terms of intensity and guts. Both teams have serious potential; both have a ways to go IMO to catch up with W-V and Collins. But it also would not surprise me at all to see either of these two teams make a March run and win the 8th.

I hate the block/charge. Especially in these situations.
