December 7, 20187 yr The latest GFS and NAM runs are showing that also. I finally found a site where I can get the European Model(ECMWF) It is supposed to be more accurate than either the GFS and NAM. Most sites with the European Model wants you to pay for it. this one is free. It is still showing southeast Kentucky getting some snow. Also, I just received a text from the National Weather Service about a conference call for Southern Kentucky this afternoon. So some parts of Kentucky are not out of the woods just yet. I actually hope we (Somerset) get some snow Saturday night/Sunday morning.
December 7, 20187 yr Author I actually hope we (Somerset) get some snow Saturday night/Sunday morning. I just received the briefing slides from the Louisville office. They are still calling for 1-2" for the Somerset area. 2-4 inches for extreme seky. So i will know more after the conference call.
December 7, 20187 yr Author Everyone should still keep an eye on the weather this weekend. The afternoon NAM is starting to show the track starting to move more to the north. I will post more about it when I get home from work.
December 7, 20187 yr Author Just to show everyone what I was talking about in my last post. The first map is from this morning 12z NAM run. It is centered around 7 am EST Monday morning. It shows the snow almost entirely missing Kentucky. The second one is from this afternoon 18z run. It shows the snowfield starting a slight shift northward. It is also center at the same time on Monday as the one above. So there is still some uncertainty on the track of this system. Those in and around Southeast Kentucky should pay close attention to this possible storm. I will update again as soon as the information warrants it. No later than tomorrow morning.
