Franklin-Simpson continues to show no signs of a dramatic fall-off after once again taking care of business against a solid Allen County-Scottsville team. Staying out west, Hopkinsville lost their 5th game and allowed Madisonville to take their spot in the rankings. The Tigers now face a critical game in both standing and psyche as they look to give Logan County their first loss. Moving across the I-75 barrier, Johnson Central will look to stay at the top of the class when they take on a Greenup County team looking to earn respect. The premier contest in Class 4A will come from District 6 this week. The winner of Wayne County and Knox Central will likely determine the district champion.

If it doesn’t end as you said with the teams that you mentioned playing for the state championship, that’s a big surprise alone IMO.

One team lurking under the radar is John Hardin. They are 5-2 with a 2 point loss to Daviess County and a 31 point loss to North Hardin. They beat Meade County 15-9, similar to FS beating Meade 17-14. They always have some good athletes and are one of those teams that can be mediocre at times but can turn it on and surprise people. They may be the dark horse in the West.
