Both. QB Jack Sivori is very good and possibly could be varsity starter or back up next year.

Historically in the T/X series, do freshman scores like this ever directly translate to varsity success?

I think so. Trinity Sophmore class went undefeated as Freshman last year and several of them are starting for Varsity, so when they are Seniors should win title. Male’s senior class went undefeated as Freshman and they are #1 this year. St.X Junior class went undefeated but just beat Trinity by 7 as Freshman, so not that much of advantage. If you can get back to back good Freshman classes, that really sets you up in a couple of years. I’ve also seen some mediocre Freshman teams develop into better team as varsity, so depends also on how kids develop.

I would say the freshman score gives you more indication than JV score. Glad to hear the Baby Bengals have a very good signal caller; I’m sure that makes Coach Wallace happy too.
