Too much Nicholas County senior Issac Fryman spelled Brossart's doom in this one.

Fryman who came into the game having rushed for 599 yards on the season, added over 300 more, and increased his touchdown output to 19 in this one.

Nicholas County led 6-0, 14-0, and 20-6, but Brossart battled back on each occasion, trailing only 14-6 at halftime, and then cut the deficit to 20-14 with the ball early on in the fourth quarter. Fryman sent the Mustangs back to Alexandria with a 73 yard late game breakaway touchdown to improve his team's record to 5-1 and now 1-0 in Class 1A, District 5 competition.

For the third consecutive game, we experienced yet another gully washer, as it rained unmercifully for 40 minutes, an hour prior to game time.

The Mustangs return home 3-2 0-1 to face Ludlow in an independent Class 1A Homecoming event next Friday night at Bob Miller Stadium at 7:30pm

I thought with returning players like Bezold,McDonald,Kramer,Orth, etc. that Brossart would be better than the 3rd place finish in district pre-season predictions of Cats Pause and others. I had them ranked a notch above Bracken and challenging Paris. Needless to say Nicholas has surprised as well, but also thought they was better than the 4th predicted. Seems like Paris has taken a step back as well(have they lost some players)

Brossart will beat Bracken County and Paris. Paris lost their stud RB to a season ending injury and that has hurt them a lot. Nicholas County is definitely playing above where most expected and are the clear favorite in the district. Brossart is having a solid season.

Nicholas County still has the hardest road ahead. At Paris at Bracken Co. Both these teams will be at thier best when these games come around. The District may come down to the very end.

If Paris lost Barber, they are a shell of themselves, I thought Paris was missing some familiar names in the last couple of weeks of their stats, didn't know Barber had gotten injured. Bracken County with their improving defense and offense should win Friday at Paris, may come down to Bracken and Nicholas like it did a couple of years ago in the final game at Brooksville
