The AP Top 25 Poll | NCAA College Football

1. Alabama

2. Clemson

3. Georgia

4. Ohio State

5. Wisconsin

6. Oklahoma

7. Auburn

8. Notre Dame

9. Washington

10. Stanford

Notable movers:

LSU 25 to 11

Virginia Tech 20 to 12

Penn State 10 to 13

Michigan State 11 to 15

Michigan 14 to 21

Miami 8 to 22

South Carolina NR to 24

Florida NR to 25

Seems about right. Not sure about moving Florida and SC into the top 25 after knocking off two cupcakes. LSU moving up is extremely predictable and well earned. Seems the voters got some clarity about how Ohio State would look after the off-season storyline and decided to move Ohio State back ahead of Wisconsin.

If they think Miami is only #22, how does that win warrant moving LSU up 14 spots? :lol2:

Way overreaction with LSU. It's week one, too much football to be played. I saw some good and bad in most all of the top ten teams. Miami was a paper champ from the beginning. LSU didn't even had 300 yards of total offense and Miami even outgained them. I'm not buying them just yet.

I might would move OSU ahead of UGA and OU ahead of Wisconsin. Also how does Washington stay in the top 10 after a loss?

I didn’t watch the UGA game, but I’m assuming you wouldn’t have said that before the season. What changed in one game?

For me personally, LSU was simply underrated to begin the season. I think they were more in the 15 range to begin the season anyways. I think the voters feel pretty much the same way. We saw something similar a few years ago when Texas beat Notre Dame the first weekend of the year and went from unranked to number 11. Right or wrong that’s just sort of what the AP does.

I like this weeks rankings. LSU probably should be a few spots lower but no big deal. The top 4 is solid. OU is really good. I agree with Washington staying in the top 10. They went back and forth with Auburn(#7) and that was basically a home game for Auburn. I’m not sold on South Carolina and Florida yet but they looked good against weak competition. All in all it looks good to me.

What about Texas A&M? They dominated a bad team and host Clemson next week. If they keep it close with Clemson do they get close to the top 25?

I wouldn't really put anyone any where before the season. Preseason rankings are useless for the most part. I think OSU looked pretty dang good against a power 5 team. While UGA won their game easily it was against Austin P. It will all work itself out but tough to ignore hanging 77 on the Beavers.

Ohio State looks great. But Oregon State won one game last year. The fact that they hung 31 on the Buckeyes has to be a bit concerning. Thst being said, Ohio State is definitely a top 3 team.
