It was a statement weekend for Beechwood and Pikeville, as they hosted ranked competition from Class 2A. The Tigers wore down Lloyd and eventually extended their lead to a running clock, while Pikeville settled for the full frontal assault, exploding on Lexington Christian before the first half ended. Beechwood will now try to take down another 2A team with a slightly higher number by their name. Paintsville has rolled in their two games, but the competition has left a lot to be desired. They take a serious step up against an impressive Frederick Douglass team.

They started the pre-season outside the Top 15 and have moved up consistently each week so far. Stay tuned, if they keep winning they will move up.

May I ask where Ludlow is ranked in this weeks ranking? They posted a good number against Bracken County this week and not sure how much they would move

It is 99% certain that Louisville Holy Cross is going to lose to DeSales. Does that loss open the door for Ludlow into the top 10? I don't think it is automatic. It depends somewhat on how Holy Cross plays in that game.

 

The other big question to consider for this Friday's games is if Somerset beats Beechwood, does that move Pikeville to number 1?

1-5 then everyone else, I believe you could make a case for any of top 5 teams to be in any order and same for 6-10. I believe there is a decent gap between 5 and 6 though and barring something crazy your final two will all come from the current top 5.
