Lincoln is one of the better teams in the 12th, and you're right, depending on how their football season fairs, will determine how they start off their basketball season. They have a very strong schedule with Mason Co on the list and the 5/3 at LexCath.

 

Wayne has an outstanding coach, and it's not only in boys basketball. Girls basketball also has a great coach. The boys have had two consecutive losing seasons, and they didn't make it to double digits last season. With a coach like that, they're always capable of being good, but I'm not sure if they will have the talent to make it out of the 48th.

Well, obviously not as good as they were last season. I don't think they'll be a region championship contender, but I could be wrong. They're capable of being in the region tourney, but after that, who knows. The loss of Staed really hurts them, but I'm hearing that Perrin is helping anchor that team back.

 

Obviously I thought you were more up to date on the 12th region SportsFan! Boyle will not only be a good team they will contend to repeat. Grant it they lost four starters but they have added the best athlete in the region to their lineup in Spencer Perrian, another athlete in Christian Williams (Two key players from Danville) and two others. They will be really good again! They may even knock off your mighty raiders! The only problem will be if Perrian can get along with Coach Bottoms. I guess time will tell.

Up-to-date? I knew about Perrin who is the only Boyle County played rated by Cats' Pause, but maybe you're right. Obviously Danville wasn't the best team in the 12th region, and Boyle was the champion because of one big reason, Staed. I also said that I could be wrong, which I might be. I just don't think they'll be a contender like they were last season, my opinion though.

I think we're both thinking the same thing. I would look for 17, 18, 19 wins out of the Jumpers this season. I know they lost a stack of talented seniors from last years class and I'm not sure what they have returning. If they're anywhere near the talent they were last season, then they could be the 12th region champions.

 

It's been several years since they've been to the region tourney, but they're capable of doing it this season.

If John Perkins is the reason you're rating Pulaski so highly you probably need to rethink your ratings. The Perkins brothers are not attending Pulaski this year. They moved out of state--Indiana I believe. I'm not sure of their location but they aren't at Pulaski.

John Perkins is still at Pulaski Co. only his younger brother Ty moved out of state. John will be a force for the marrons this season, with the lose of Ben Meeks to graduation and Ty Perkins to transfer he will get the first look each trip down the floor. I wouldn't be surprised if ranks high in the state in ppg. He is a very skilled offensive player.

Thanks for the info. I had read on another thread back before football season that both brothers had moved away. I guess they assumed that since one moved they both did.

I said I ONLY knew about Perrin... and that's why I have them in the tourney, but not winning it. Perrin is a good player, but he won't be able to make up for Staed. I had no idea what else they had, so that's why I made that prediction. I'm sorry if my opinion or prediction upset you.
