How do you think your* team will do this season in the win/lose column if no one is injured? How will their district turn out?

McCreary Central: 23-4

I think they have a few toss-up games like:

@Somerset, @Lincoln, @E. Jessamine.

That's three of the top five teams in the region with McCreary and S'western being the other two, according to Cats' Pause.

 

9 games at home + 4 tourney games at home = 13

11 games away + 3 tourney games away = 14

 

They could go undefeated at home but have a couple challenges in S'western, Pulaski, and West Jessamine.

 

48th:

1. McCreary Central: 6-0

2. Southwestern: 3-3

3. Wayne Co: 3-3

4. Monticello: 0-6

So.. how will your team do?

McCreary could have a rough go-around against Pulaski, with Cats' Pause #1 player John Perkins, at home on the 30th. One hundred, seven students scored atleast one distinguished on their CATS test and that includes senior starters Corey Waters and last years second leading scorer senior Josh Bartley. As a reward for the improved test scores, those students get to fly to Orlando on the 30th and stay for five days at the DisneyWorld Resort. The students will be leaving early that morning for the flight, but I'm not sure if Bartley and Waters will. I'm getting word that they may stay for their game, and then get on a seperate flight later that night, but that isn't confirmed.

 

Without Bartley and Waters, McCreary could get upset at home.

I havent seen Somersets Schedule yet, so I cant say how I think they will do.

Thanks, I look for Somerset to have 17+ wins, what are you thoughts about Somersets upcoming season?

I think we're both thinking the same thing. I would look for 17, 18, 19 wins out of the Jumpers this season. I know they lost a stack of talented seniors from last years class and I'm not sure what they have returning. If they're anywhere near the talent they were last season, then they could be the 12th region champions.

 

It's been several years since they've been to the region tourney, but they're capable of doing it this season.

-I don't think W. Jessamine is what they were last season, but if they are then you can expect another tough game for McCreary and Somerset when they play West.

Somerset basketball will be without Ross Deaton this season from what I understand.

Well, hopefully both teams will have good seasons... of course, I want McCreary to be better.

How does Boyle look as the season approaches?

Well, obviously not as good as they were last season. I don't think they'll be a region championship contender, but I could be wrong. They're capable of being in the region tourney, but after that, who knows. The loss of Staed really hurts them, but I'm hearing that Perrin is helping anchor that team back.

This might be the weakest region in the state this season. Not sure about the 14th, but it looks like Lincoln will win it to me.

Just curious why eveyone even the CATS Pause thinks West Jessamine will be so far down. I looked them up last year and they were 5-11 at one point, got thier act together and ended up 17-14. It seems ranked 9th and 3rd in district they would be the sleeping giant in the region?? I understand inexperience and now a new coach but I would think they still will be a force to be reckoned with in the end?? I could be wrong what do people think?? Are they that far down??

 

MCCreary is a force as far as the thread. So many good games in the region this year. It really seems this could be a really good year for the 12th competing with other teams out of region this year. 12th seems to be sronger than normally. Lincoln and Boyle seem to have strong schedules then with East, McCreary, a new improved Pulaski , Wayne and a host of others seems like the 12th could have a great year???

Well, West Jessamine may be a better team than I have projected. I know last season, they're best player was injured during the region tournament, and I just assumed he was a senior. I am also assuming Mercer will be better since they joined with Harrodsburg, but I may be wrong. They were only like 18-36 combined or something like that last season. Therefore, my 46th is really a toss-up. I think you'll see East come out, barring injuries, but after that, I have no idea.

I think Lincoln's win/loss will be impacted by the run of the football team. They open up with Wayne, Perry County Central, Mason County, East Jess, West Jess, then go to the Hoopin it up and then on to the 5/3 at Catholic. If Calhoun, Miller and Young are still playing football late in November, I could see them getting out of the gates slowly. I still look for Lincoln to have 20 wins by the end of regular season.

 

A team that is not getting much pub is Wayne County, they have a solid group of Juniors and Rodney Woods has shown to be one of the best coaches in the 12th Region. What do some of Wayne County people think?
