June 9, 20188 yr It's very hard to watch these young pitchers of the Reds. Who in the heck is calling the pitches; the catcher, the manager or the pitcher himself. They don't have a clue how to pitch. I watched them walk Carpenter last night 3 times. He's a .228 hitter with not a lot of power. Now granted he is a very good leadoff hitter because he will take a walk. The Reds pitchers pitch him like he is Babe Ruth. They don't challenge him early in the count and when he gets ahead he is a hard out. The other day Castillo was rolling along and started nibbling on pitches and loaded the bases. He got ahead of San Diego's pinch hitter Spangenberg and tried to get him out on his 3rd best pitch which he hangs. Grand slam HR! Today he walks leadoff hitter Wacha after trying to get him out on nothing but fastballs which he fouls off until he gets the walk. Reds killer Molina comes to the plate after another walk and a hit and cleans the bases. I ask again, who is calling the pitches? Do they just let Castillo and these other young pitchers pitch their own games? I like Barnhart but is he not a good signal caller?
June 9, 20188 yr Author The pitch to Molina was a hit me fast ball right down the middle on the first pitch. It was like, here, you always kills us so here is yet another cookie from a Reds pitcher.
June 9, 20188 yr Author Have you heard this before, Cardinals beat Reds yet again 6-4. Reds out hit the Cards and again left 10 men on base. Sixth game in a row the losing team has out hit the winning team.
June 9, 20188 yr Author Winker hit a Home Run that either hot or came close to the truck give away sign.
June 10, 20188 yr Iglesias walks lead off hitter and immediately gives up a run to put Reds down one. Some of our pitchers really struggled to throw strikes at times. Maybe we should go back to the pitching to contact days.

June 10, 20188 yr Winker hit a Home Run that either hot or came close to the truck give away sign. It hit the blue base holding up the sign. One foot higher and somebody would have gotten the truck. I think they should give it away anyway. I don't think any Red has ever hit the sign at GABP. Am I right about that? I believe the trucks get donated at the end of every year.

Should have had a winner yesterday.
June 10, 20188 yr Place gets so loud as Molina steps to the plate with boos and he rips a RBI double. I swear he must love playing in GABP.
June 10, 20188 yr Author Place gets so loud as Molina steps to the plate with boos and he rips a RBI double. I swear he must love playing in GABP. He loves playing against pitchers that are going to throw his fastballs right down the middle.

Went through a window a few years ago during BP.
June 10, 20188 yr Author Reds and Toyota dealers are giving the contestant the truck. That is a good deal!!!
June 10, 20188 yr Author As good as Barnhart is, he seems to really struggle with short hop throws. I know that is a tough play for anybody, especially the catcher, but he has to come up with those some. Missed two today. I mean throws not pitches.
