Russell's Justin Manning and Raceland's Kirk Pence both went the distance. Jacob Funk drove in both of Russell's runs on a two out, bases loaded single in the 6th.

This is an upset isn't it? Looking at the records of each team it looks like a big upset.

I woudn't go as far as to say upset as both teams won a regular season game against Each Other but I guess if you go by records it could be. If Russell could manage to beat Greenup now I would consider that a big upset. It just seems like Greenup has Russell's number in baseball.

Huge win for the Red Devils.

 

Raceland had some talent this year when I watched them in the Class A State Tournament. Good luck to Russell!

Over the past several years, baseball and basketball in the 63rd have mirrored each other in a lot of ways. Greenup has Russell's number, Russell has Raceland's, and Raceland has Greenup's. If Raceland had won last night, I would have picked them to win the district because they seem to have some sort of mental edge over Greenup right now.

 

If recent history is any indicator, Greenup will roll the Devils tonight. At this point, it's all about who's on the mound and Russell's best pitcher just went a full seven innings last night. Someone else is going to have to step up.

Greenup has won 30 straight over Russell.

A really bizarre thing. Russell has had several chances to break the streak.
