Cardsrule1972
Collins and Spencer County have both been invited and accepted to the King of the Bluegrass next year. At least that's a rumor I'm hearing.
Bink23bball
So the 8th region will have 3 teams in the KOB? Walton was invited also, right after this year KOB.
Cardsrule1972
Not sure, just hearing rumors. You know how that goes. Gaither at Collins put it out on Twitter. He has since deleted it. Edited March 22, 2018 by Cardsrule1972
Indiana Patrick
The KOB usually features a top player state-wise on each participating team. So for Collins Knight is the feature guy? And the KOB is big time ball, is Spencer Co. and Conley ready for that kind of exposure? Didn't realize WV will be that tall. That may be enough to win the 8th because nobody in the region that I can think of will be able to handle that kind of size.

TheSteelCat
Waltons size didn't help them this year. Did you forget that 6'10 Miles did not play the majority of the season? How do you know their size didn't help this year when most of the size was injured?

TheSteelCat
Beginning of the season Walton was the most over hyped team in the 8th region. Very much overhyped. Made it to the state all A championship and won 3 games in the KOB and beat your Pioneers in the district championship all with their 6'10 center on the bench injured... very much overhyped. hoops_fan
SK didn’t do anything in the 8th region either, WV beat them twice. Hard to really argue that. This is for next year. WV will be taller than last year, SK will be shorter.
TheSteelCat
And nothing in the 8th region tournament. That is what makes the game so special, in a win or go home situation you never know how teenage boys are going to play. Just ask Virginia, Arizona, Cincinnati, North Carolina, Xavier. ANYTHING can happen, doesn't take away the fact that WV lived up to their hype and had a GREAT season.
