Lexington Catholic 19 Dunbar 14 (JV)

Featured Replies

It was a good game for both teams. The weather conditions couldnt have been worse, it rained hard the whole game. It was fun to see these two teams play and I hope that there varsity teams will meet soon down the road in the next years.

Hopefully this is one step closer to ALL Lexington teams playing in season, without having to do it because of being in the same district, but because they should play each other.

I thought the ban was still in effect for all Fayette County Public Schools?

I think these two are going to try to play in 08. Dunbar's schedule is already filled for next year. Hopefully, they can get it worked out and play each other every year.

Heard someone in the Fayette Co. "powers that be" communicated some sort of verbal reprimand to the Dunbar coaches for scheduling this game agianst Lexington Catholic.

Did Lex Cath. JV play Thurs. then turn around and play Highlands today? (Sat.)

I think they played Mon., Thurs., the reps in the second half on Friday night, and then today.

The Boycott is over. It was finished this spring. Lexington schools can schedule who ever they want to.

You might be misinformed....I would check that out first.

I heard this also.

An email was sent out by the Board of Education to all head coaches in Fayette County in the spring that you are now aloud to schedule Lexington Catholic.

I know the head coach very well and he has told me nothing of this and the Assistant Principal, and the AD at Dunbar knew they were playing Catholic and there is nothing wrong with it.

Like I said, I have not heard of any lift. I know several of the Fayette coaches as well as a couple of LexCath coaches and I haven't heard anything of the sort. Might be something I need to check out. I do know that the Fayette coaches would welcome the opportunity to play LexCath. ;)

I heard that LexCath offered a couple Fayette County teams the opportunity to play them in the Bluegrass Bowl, but they declined the invite.

Catholic didn't play in the Bluegrass Bowl this year because they had a one game suspension. I think there has been some talks for future games but nothing certain. I know some Fayette Coaches want to play Lexington Catholic but they would like to do it a Home and Home series so the Publics and Catholic can both have a huge gate when the game is at their place instead of Catholic getting the big gate for the bowl game and writing out a X number for a check.
