Six new statistical leaders (*) top the charts in the KHSAA's latest report.

Adair County freshman Zion Harmon continues to lead the state in scoring, while also ranking 2nd in free throw shooting (91.7%) and 3rd in 3 pt shots made per game (3.4). Covington Catholic's Jake Walter shot 25 for 27 in three games last week to become the new shooting percentage leader. Scott County, the state's winningest team (19-1), is the new scoring margin leader.

I really wish they would rank the 3 point shooters by percentage instead of makes. They should do it like free throws and require a minimum number of shots per game and rank by percentage made. I think that would be more meaningful than number of makes in terms of who the best three point shooters are. Makes, in some cases, have more to do with how many attempts a player has than how well they shoot it.

Zion Harmon?? Can you just jump to any school you want. I thought he played for Bowling Green. Guess I have been hiding under a rock. Where will he be next year? Who ever has the best chance of winning a state title!

If three-point shooting leaders were ranked according to percentage made, Bishop Brossart's Zach Hamberg at 50% (52 of 104) would be atop the list it seems.
