Glad to see Trinity"s QB got recognized for his great season. As most thought, he and the kid from CCH had great seasons, good they they were both rewarded. Congratulations to these two and all the other awardees.

Heath Simmons QB/olb from Ohio County made the second team defense. HOW? I don't know if the kid played a down at line backer. Great passer, tackler, I don't know about that.

How is this team selected or voted on?

Glad to see some SK and NKY kids get some love.

They struggled with their LB picks

They also have Tahj Rice from Waggener as a LB.

First team D-Linemen worthy for Rice? For sure... but that monster definitely was not lining up as a LB lol

Dalton Adkins from Raceland was the best safety I've seen in a long time at the high school level. That kid covers a ton of ground and hits like a truck. He also doesn't miss tackles in the open field. A class act on the field too.

Congrats to the young men on this list. They obviously did something to be noticed by a national publication. However I must say that some of the inaccuracies pointed out in this thread to date make me question the the selection process.

Exactly. Tahj Rice is on no one's second team. He is one of three four stars (according to Rivals) from Kentucky. They missed on him bad.

Also, Kam Butler should have been defensive player of the year. I am sure the kid from Madison Southern is a great player, but you can't captain a defense who got running clocked at the end of the third quarter in the state game and be player of the year. By comparison, in 12 games against Kentucky opponents (other 3 were out-of-state) CCH gave up 89 points or 7.4 points per game.
