SETH Rankings

Featured Replies

These rankings rate the 6th and 7th region teams to determine who gets in the LIT. Here is current rankings with teams that would be in as of today:

1. Trinity

2. Waggener

3. Fern Creek

4. Butler

5. Doss

6. PRP

7. Valley

8. St.X

9. Fairdale

10. Ballard

11. Male

12. J-Town

13. Iroquois

14. Bullitt East

15. Central

16. Seneca

Surprised Ballard so low but they will most likely move up over next couple of weeks.

I think Ballard's position is largely a result of having played only 4 games, only 1 of which was against a team from either the Sixth or Seventh Region (a win over Christian Academy).

The one that surprises me is Central, which is 1-4 on the season, its only win being against Manual, who is not projected at this point to be in the field. Central has a close overtime loss to Male, but it has also has a 22-point loss to Eastern, another team currently not projected to be in the field.

Please understand that I am not complaining. I know these rankings are not subjective rankings, but the result of a formula that is known to the coaches in the Sixth and Seventh Regions. And Central is wee-coached and plays hard, so I would be happy for them to make the field.

Central is not wee-coached, but is well-coached.

I thought the top 20 made it?

They have reverted back to a 16-team field this year. I understand the reasoning for doing so, but it reduces the chances of a smaller school making the field, which is too bad.
