I've been involved in games where this was the case. Those reading the score and stats get offended, but in a real game scenario, there wasn't much you could do besides tell the last string kids not to try and that's just wrong.

Walton Verona had 3rd string guys in during the 3rd quarter, they are a small school. What else can you do? Kids that would never score touchdowns in a close game this year were scoring, do you tell that kid keep it out of the endzone???

 

Agree. As Steve Spurrier said "It's not the offense's job to hold down the score". This doesn't mean you are throwing late, but as was mentioned do you tell kids running the ball to fall down. This is an annual first problem.
